Assistant General Counsel

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the Chief Legal Officer and senior management of global medical device company in identifying and managing significant legal and compliance risks and opportunities
  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer & General Manager and other personnel on intellectual property matters, including offensive and defensive strategy, licensing agreements, and other transactions
  • Serve as a strategic legal advisor to the company, providing legal advice and services in a variety of areas, which may include
    • Commercial transactions and agreements, primarily in the EU and Asia; sales and lease contracts, distribution and service agreements
    • Research arrangements and agreements for clinical research studies, projects and collaborations
    • Collaboration agreements with suppliers of complementary technology and suppliers
    • Arrangements with academic and non-academic collaborators on preclinical and technology development efforts (NDA’s, agreements, licensing etc.)
    • Collaborate with COO & GM on legal matters related to the company Research Committee
    • Regulatory and quality - compliance with legal requirements
    • HR matters – employment agreements, compensation, benefits; training
    • Investigations, litigation, dispute resolution
    • Real estate – company facilities
    • Securities and Finance – transactions, shareholder relations, equity incentive plans; possible IPO or other transition to public company
    • Corporate governance matters

What you have:

  • Excellent academic and legal credentials
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, preferably including experience with a multinational organization and/or a reputable law firm and in health care / life sciences
  • Strong analytical thinking, high integrity, result-oriented, self-starter, with hands-on approach
  • Ability to work with dynamic multinational and interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Complete fluency in both Hebrew and English
  • The ideal candidate will have expertisae in both intellectual property matters, such as patent prosecution and licensing, and other areas listed above. Skills in one area may offset lack of relevant experience in others, for a top “athlete” who is open to learning new skills.
